I hope to help direct Newbys in Trail Buggys so they don't have to make the expensive mistakes I made. ..

My first Buggy was a Dazon 150 bought at KC power sports. KC sold a lot of units but something was not right with them and the state, I never did get the details but anyway, they said they probably will not carry them anymore.

The Dazon was great fun though, ran well and got me hooked on the sport. But it didn't climb the way I wanted so I bought a 250 from Bestpriceatv for $2,300...let's just say you get what you pay for. The biggest problem was they wouldn't send the proper paper work. You need a Certificate of Origin signed by a dealer and a bill of sale to get your UTV sticker and get the unit titled. That took nearly a month and I finally had to contact the Texas Attorney General to get them to move on it.

The 250 had a little better power, but I soon learned on Buggy news (you must go there-fantastic site www.buggynews.com) that I needed a better clutch. So I bought a $65 clutch and paid A-1 scooters to put it in for $100. It did help, but then the 150 started burning up belts. My wife and I wanted to be able to sit side by side comfortably in a machine too. So...

I bought the cadillac, a Joyner 650 out of Reno. It disappoint me as soon as I looked at it because it was big, high geared and did not have buggy suspension, it was built for sand dunes more than crawling around in our Idaho Desert. We did take it on a 80 mile ride up through Leslie Gulch (amazing ride!) and it did well, but it is designed to go very fast down roads, not rock climbing like a Trail Buggy.

Finally after studying the buggy news forum closely, the TJpowersports Hammerhead 250 with a Hi - Lo transmission looked like the ticket. But there were none in SW Idaho.

I had to actually become the SW Idaho Factory Demo Rep. for the company to get one. But once I drove it - finally - what we were looking for. Climb anything I want to climb, comfortable for my wife and I to sit in, rides incredibly well. It's perfect. So...I now give demo rides on mine. Don't buy anything until you at least try one.

That's my two cents...
